Ange Postecoglou sack claim made at Tottenham live on Sky Sports News

Jamie O’Hara admits that he’d be “surprised” to see Ange Postecoglou retain his role as Tottenham boss after their 3-2 defeat against Everton on Sunday.

The Australian was already hanging onto his job by a thin thread and this result against the Toffees won’t have done him much good.

Spurs are now 15th in the Premier League table with 16th-placed Everton just four points behind them.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News (19 January), ex-Tottenham ace O’Hara shared his thoughts on where the future of Postecoglou should lie.

“I tell you what, I’ll be surprised if he survives, Ange, regardless of the injuries and regardless of what we’ve got in terms of being in cup competitions, the premier league is bread and butter, it’s not good enough.

“You can’t be 15th in the table and 3-0 down against Everton, I know there’s injuries but come on, Bournemouth have got injuries but they went to Newcastle and won 4-1, put a bit of respect into the fact that you have to play a different style of football and just expecting it to continue.”

Ange Postecoglou surely has no future at Tottenham now

Although many fans were already questioning the future of the Australian, this defeat against Everton is surely the final nail in the coffin.

When their poor run of form first started, that could have been put down due to the sheer amount of injuries they’ve suffered but the fact that Postecoglou refuses to change the way he plays has been Spurs’ achilles heel this term.

At the moment, they don’t have enough depth among their ranks to perform the way the former Celtic boss wants them to and although this is clear to everyone, he still refuses to change his ways.

There have been numerous names linked with Spurs’ managerial position but until the official announcement comes, fans have to be prepared to stick it out with Postecoglou.

However, if Daniel Levy chooses to keep him on, fans may start to question him and whether he has the club’s best interests at heart.
