Ange Postecoglou receives new job offers already after Tottenham sack

Ange Postecoglou will still have clubs fighting for his signature this summer despite being sacked by Tottenham on Friday.

Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham (6 June) after a poor Premier League campaign, which saw the Lilywhites finish 17th with 38 points.

Tottenham also set a record by becoming the first side to suffer 22 league defeats without being relegated from the Premier League.

If Spurs’ season was not confusing enough, Postecoglou also ended a 17-year trophy drought in North London by winning the UEFA Europa League.

And this seems to have at least earned Postecoglou some brownie points with several interested clubs.

Postecoglou could make an immediate return to management

Postecoglou made an impression when he said he would win a trophy with Tottenham in his second season. The Lilywhites had long been known as a club who were unable to win a trophy.

Therefore, it seemed as though Postecoglou was promising the impossible. However, he proved all doubters wrong when he lifted the Europa League with Tottenham.

The feat may not have been enough to commission a third season in North London after an awful Premier League campaign. However, others have taken notice of this achievement.

As reported by The Telegraph (7 June), Postecoglou has already received interest from clubs willing to offer him an instant return to management.

It is still unknown what clubs these are and if the Australian is willing to accept an offer this summer.

Tottenham’s manager hunt is now a two-horse race

Levy launched his succession plan before the end of a disappointing Premier League campaign and Europa League win.

Thomas Frank has made headlines as the frontrunner for the position over the last few weeks. The Brentford boss enjoyed a strong season, guiding the Bees to a 10th-place finish in the Premier League.

The Dane offers a dynamic approach to Tottenham, where he is open to new styles of play and could even bring a couple of players with him. However, Marco Silva is another option.

Silva was first introduced to top-flight football in England as a coach at Hull City in 2017, and he has since performed wonders on the pitch with limited resources.

While both managers are great options for Spurs, it will be difficult to replace Postecoglou.
