Ange Postecoglou now back in running for Leeds manager’s job, ex-Tottenham boss on stand-by for rescue mission
Ange Postecoglou could return to the Premier League sooner than expected as he is a contender for the Leeds United job.
Postecoglou was dismissed by Tottenham in the summer, despite winning their first trophy in 17 years, with the Europa League title.
Daniel Levy made the decision after a dismal domestic campaign, in which the North London club finished 17th, with just 11 wins.
He was not out of work for too long, as he was appointed as Nottingham Forest boss in September, just three months after his Spurs exit.
The Australian was sacked after just 40 days, and currently finds himself out of work, but that could change shortly.

Could Ange Postecoglou take over at Leeds United?
Daniel Farke was under pressure earlier in the campaign, and while he has eased that for now, the German could come in for scrutiny if Premier League results start to decline.
According to one bookmaker, Postecoglou is 12/1 to take over at Elland Road, and potentially lead a rescue mission if necessary.
Marcelo Bielsa is the favourite to take over at 3/1, with Bo Svensson second favourite at 5/1, and Marco Silva third in the running at 8/1.

Spurs icon Robbie Keane is another contender, ranked at 10/1 to take over from Farke if he is dismissed from his post.

Why Postecoglou will be desperate to return to Premier League
Postecoglou will be determined to prove that he was not to blame for what happened at the City Ground.
He was sacked just 20 minutes after the 3-0 loss to Chelsea on 20 October, after losing six of his eight matches in charge, failing to win any.
He will be desperate to get back to the top level of English football and turn the reputation that has developed around.

His time with the Lilywhites and the Reds have raised doubts over his ability to handle the pressure that comes with managing at such a level, and he would surely love to prove them wrong.
Whether he can do so, and somebody takes a chance on the 60-year-old, remains to be seen.
Perhaps the Whites will take it, and look to the Australian to turn things around, if it all goes wrong in the business end of the season.
