Andoni Iraola issued Tottenham warning as ENIC questioned on talkSPORT
Andoni Iraola is a top candidate to take the reins at Tottenham if Ange Postecoglou is sacked.
Postecoglou faces an uncertain future at Tottenham, as they sit 14th in the Premier League with nine games left and risk missing out on Champions League football next season.
Having missed out on both domestic cup competitions, Spurs’ only chance of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League depends on their success in the Europa League.
Postecoglou’s future is expected to come under review if he fails to win the competition, with the possibility of a sack looming large.

Iraola verdict issued at Tottenham
Iraola has emerged as a leading candidate to replace Postecoglou at Spurs after it emerged that the Bournemouth boss would be interested in moving to North London.
This has quickly become a serious possibility, with Tottenham prepared to trigger the £10million release clause in the Spanish tactician’s contract at the Vitality Stadium.
However, Troy Deeney has told Iraola to think twice before taking the reins at the London-based club, as they already have a long list of ‘top’ managers who have failed.
The talkSPORT pundit added that the Cherries manager should think about whether he will be backed by owners ENIC and Daniel Levy enough, and if there is also a systemic problem there.
“I think it’s nailed on, obviously, Tottenham are a bigger club than Bournemouth as we stand and as we talk about it”, Deeney said on talkSPORT (28 March, 10:57 am).
“If you were looking at it from a manager’s point of view, you’d look at Spurs and go, ‘Right, I can change that’ because every manager thinks they can.
“You look at the ownership and think, ‘Will I really get the money?’ I’m not too sure.
“The big thing for anybody now is, look at the list of top, top managers that have been there and failed to do it.
“So, it will be that 50-50. ‘Can I be the one who does it and gets all the plaudits for it?’, or is there something systemic within there that doesn’t work, that is why all these greats have failed.”

Spurs also linked with Thomas Frank
Iraola is not the only manager linked with replacing Postecoglou at Tottenham.
Spurs have also been credited with an interest in hiring Brentford’s Thomas Frank and Fulham’s Marco Silva as their next manager.
Manager | Current Job | Games | Points Per Match |
Postecoglou | Tottenham | 87 | 1.59 |
Frank | Brentford | 308 | 1.51 |
Iraola | Bournemouth | 78 | 1.49 |
Silva | Fulham | 174 | 1.60 |
Therefore, it is evident that Postecoglou is running out of time to save his job in North London, with his future likely depending on the Europa League.
It is thus imperative that the former Celtic boss leads Tottenham to a victory over Eintracht Frankfurt in the quarter-final in April.
