Alan Shearer predicts Tottenham v Nottingham Forest as ‘dismantled’ claim made

Ange Postecoglou will hate what Alan Shearer has said about the Premier League clash between Tottenham and Nottingham Forest on Easter Monday.

Spurs will be high on confidence after beating Eintracht Frankfurt 1-0 in Germany on Thursday (17 April) to win their UEFA Europa League quarter-final tie 2-1 on aggregate.

Postecoglou will hope that Tottenham can use that boost to bounce back from their defeat against Wolves last weekend when they host Forest at home on 21 April.

The Tricky Trees have been one of the surprise packages of the season, having broken into the top four.

However, Spurs are perhaps catching Nuno Espirito Santo’s side at the right time, as they travel to N17 on the back of two consecutive defeats.

Postecoglou will hate Shearer prediction for Tottenham v Nottingham Forest

The Premier League clash between Tottenham and Forest on Monday, therefore, is guaranteed to be captivating.

Previewing the Easter Monday fixture, Shearer insisted that both teams will be under ‘huge’ pressure going into the game.

Forest and Tottenham’s record in the Premier League this season.

The Newcastle icon believes Forest will be determined to avoid their season being ‘dismantled’ after their losses against Aston Villa and Everton.

That is why the pundit expects Espirito Santo to walk out of the Tottenham Hotspur stadium with all three points.

“Spurs will be under huge pressure”, Shearer wrote in his column on the Betfair website (19 April).

“Forest are under huge pressure after the result last week and won’t want their season to be dismantled in terms of not getting Champions League football.

“The way they’ll play, I think they’ll have enough to beat Spurs. Away win.”

Spurs must avoid defeat v Espirito Santo

Postecoglou will be hopeful that Shearer’s prediction does not come true on Monday.

The Greek-Australian manager has managed to silence talk about him being sacked as the Spurs manager after the win against Frankfurt.

However, another defeat against Forest is certain to raise doubts about the former Celtic manager’s future again.

It is worth noting that the North London giants have lost 17 league matches already this season, which is a terrible record for any Spurs boss.
