West Ham vs Tottenham preview: Team News, likely lineups, score prediction

Tottenham will be looking to get back on track in the Premier League when they travel to face West Ham on Saturday.

The Lilywhites return to Premier League action with a 5:30pm evening kick-off in East London, as they go in search of three points at a ground that hasn’t been kind to them in recent years.

Spurs have failed to beat West Ham in any of their last five visits to E20, and they will be desperate to put a stop to that run this time around.

Thomas Frank’s side were defeated by Bournemouth before the latest round of internationals, and a lively London derby is the perfect chance for them to get back to winning ways.

Team News

Destiny Udogie returned from injury for Tottenham in their recent defeat to Burnley, and he looks set to be involved once again, even if he starts the game on the bench.

Long-term absentees Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison remain out, while the game will almost certainly come too soon for Radu Dragusin, despite the recent progress in his recovery.

Frank could hand Tottenham debuts to the new attacking duo of Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani, after they both arrived in the final stages of the transfer window.

For the hosts, Crysencio Summerville could start after playing a part in the emphatic 3-0 victory at Nottingham Forest last weekend, but Niclas Fullkrug is highly likely to miss the game, after picking up an injury while on international duty this week.

Prediction: West Ham 1-2 Tottenham

Both sides have found the back of the net in seven of their last eight clashes against each other in all competitions, and that run looks likely to continue here.

West Ham will be buoyed by their victory in Nottingham last weekend, but they are coming up against a Spurs outfit who should ultimately be too strong for them.

Games between the two rivals are often decided on fine margins, and it would be no surprise to see them fall in Tottenham’s favour this time around, given the quality that they possess in the final third with the likes of Simons.

With that in mind, Tottenham News is predicting a 2-1 win for the Lilywhites at the London Stadium.
