Tottenham player spotted ‘going bananas’ at Tottenham team-mates in Bodo/Glimt win
Tottenham defeated Bodo/Glimt 3-1 in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final, but not everyone was happy during the match.
Ahead of kick-off Spurs were rocked by the news that Lucas Bergvall was absent due to an injury sustained in training on Wednesday.
But Ange Postecoglou’s men raced to a 1-0 lead after just one minute thanks to Brennan Johnson.
James Maddison doubled the Tottenham lead before Dominic Solanke calmly slotted home a second-half penalty, but Ulrik Saltnes did mange to pull one back for Kjetil Knutsen’s men late on.

Guglielmo Vicario frustrated with defence in Spurs victory
Guglielmo Vicario failed to keep a clean sheet as Spurs beat Bodo/Glimt 3-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
But the Italy international’s antics caught the eye of Rob Green when Postecoglou’s men held a 2-0 lead.
Opponent | Result |
Nottingham Forest (H) | 1-2 L |
Liverpool (A) | 5-1 L |
Bodo/Glimt (H) | 3-1 W |
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Sports Extra, the former England goalkeeper said [1 May, 8.51pm]: “Vicario is going bananas in his goal because the Spurs back line just stops and falls asleep.
“The urgency all of a sudden disappears. This is the concentration issue we were talking about.
“You talk about having a comfortable 2-0 lead and they switch off for a few seconds and it really could have hurt them.”

Tottenham set to reach Europa League final
The North Londoners have suffered a woeful Premier League campaign, as Sunday’s heavy loss at Liverpool marked their 19th top-flight loss of the season.
Postecoglou appears unlikely to remain in charge of Tottenham ahead of next season, even if he guides them to Europa League glory.
But Spurs have an increasingly healthy chance of clinching their first silverware since their League Cup triumph in 2008 via the European competition with their 3-1 win over Bodo/Glimt.
Barring what would be an unlikely comeback in Norway, Tottenham appear set to reach the Europa League final, where they will likely lock horns with Premier League rivals Manchester United.
Like Spurs, Ruben Amorim’s men enjoyed a big triumph over Athletic Bilbao in the first leg of their last-four tie, and have one foot in the final already.
Tottenham should even fancy their chances of winning the Europa League, as they have beaten Man United three times already this term across all competitions.
