Tottenham fans ‘roar’ at what Son Heung-min did on touchline v Man United

Son Heung-min finally ended Tottenham’s trophy curse as he captained Spurs to the Europa League final.

Brennan Johnson scored the only goal in Bilbao to ensure that the London club won their first trophy since 2008.

Ange Postecoglou knew what was on the line going into the Europa League final and he finally delivered the long-awaited cup.

Son is no doubt another hero at Spurs, as he came off the bench to ensure the cup came back to London.

However, it was what the South Korean did while he was on the bench which caused Tottenham fans to “roar”.

Son threw up his arms at Spurs fans to cause Tottenham ‘roar’ in warm-up

Son was surprisingly benched for the final as the captain looked to lift his first trophy at the London club.

However, the attacker did not stay quite even when he was not present on the field.

In the midst of the match, Son went out to warm up before he came onto the pitch to see out the final moments of the game.

According to Sky Sports (21 May), the South Korean proceeded to “throw his arms up” towards supporters, which caused a roar.

Sky Sports’ Nick Wright said: “Son throws up his arms to the Spurs fans as he warms up by the side of the pitch. They respond with a roar. So many fouls, so little fluency to the game. But that suits Spurs.”

Son finally gets the trophy he deserves at Tottenham

Throughout all of Tottenham’s failures over the years, Son has stuck with the London club through thick and thin.

The South Korean international could have easily left at any point, with the attacker consistently pumping out insane numbers at Spurs.

Yet, he stayed, and he has now captained the London club through one of the most memorable nights in their history.

Son thoroughly deserves the trophy, perhaps more than any player in recent history, and he can look proudly back on his career at Tottenham.

Hopefully, this isn’t the last cup Son guides Spurs to, and the attacker adds another trophy to his collection next season.

The European Super Cup presents the perfect chance for Tottenham to achieve this, with the London club set to play either PSG or Inter Milan in the final at the start of the next campaign after their win.
