Harry Kane returns – Three things to look out for as Tottenham take on Bayern Munich

Tottenham face Bayern Munich in South Korea in what will be an intriguing clash for many reasons.

Spurs have already defeated Arsenal and drawn with Newcastle United in their pre-season tour of Asia and will want to keep the momentum going.

One of the biggest headlines of the tour was Son Heung-min leaving Tottenham permanently for LAFC.

Now, his former colleague Harry Kane will face his former employer amid many other potential storylines.

Kane set for Tottenham reunion

Tottenham and Bayern Munich have been intertwined this summer, with players moving between the clubs.

The Lilywhites have signed Joao Palhinha on loan, while Mathys Tel completed a permanent switch from Bavaria.

Two seasons ago, it was Kane who completed a £100million move in the other direction and has since lifted a league title.

The striker will receive a warm reception from both sets of supporters, given his exploits in North London.

Kane played against Tottenham in pre-season last summer, coming on as a late substitute, but did not score.

Bayern won that encounter 3-2 and will be hoping for a repeat with the 32-year-old on the scoresheet.

Palhinha set for imminent return against Bayern Munich

Palhinha may have only just joined Tottenham on a season-long loan, but he is already set to face his parent club.

In competitive circumstances, the defensive midfielder would not usually be able to play against his employer, but as this is a friendly, he is free to do so.

The Portuguese international has been viewed as a positive acquisition, with many referencing his success at Fulham.

In central midfield, Tottenham have been lacking in quality, and it is a position in which they were exposed last term.

Palhinha will want to make his mark against Bayern, and Spurs will want to see what he can offer in North London.

Spurs start life without Son

One of the biggest talking points of the summer has been the future of Son, but that has now been set in stone.

Son ended his 10-year stay with the Lilywhites, playing his final game against Newcastle in Asia.

The South Korean can be considered a club legend, having ended his stint with a trophy after seasons of stellar performances.

However, now all eyes will be on how Thomas Frank adjusts his team, with a particular focus on the wing.

Brennan Johnson scored against the Magpies and could excel this season, while Wilson Odobert has shown promise.

Tottenham will enter the match with Bayern with confidence, and there are many potential subplots that could come to fruition.
