Glenn Hoddle raves about outfield Tottenham player who has ‘saved two goals’ vs Monaco
Tottenham started on the back foot as they faced Monaco in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Thomas Frank’s team have travelled to the Stade Louis II on 22 October, with the Danish head coach looking to go unbeaten in his third consecutive fixture in the European competition.
With Cristian Romero and Destiny Udogie unavailable, Kevin Danso and Archie Gray have started in the backline and have had to work hard to keep Adi Hutter’s team from scoring.
The hosts were threatening in the initial stages of the first half, leading to some significant opportunities that the North London outfit had to deal with.

Archie Gray excellent on Monaco vs Tottenham
Archie Gray was “absolutely brilliant” in the opening 15 minutes of the game against Monaco, Glenn Hoddle says.
The former Spurs midfielder was left impressed by the 19-year-old’s defensive performance at the Stade Louis II, potentially making two goal-saving interceptions in the first half.
With the Ligue 1 outfit dominating the game in the opening 45 minutes, Frank will have to make a few changes at the break to turn the momentum.
Speaking on TNT Sports on 22 October, Hoddle said: “It might be his first Champions League game tonight, Gray, but already he has made three or four [interceptions]. He’s been absolutely brilliant. His positional play, interceptions and tackling, excellent. Already, he’s actually saved probably two goals going in because of his positional play.”
Spurs are coming off a loss to Aston Villa in the Premier League, with Unai Emery’s team coming from a goal behind to win 2-1.
The North London outfit’s record away from home has been impressive this season, and fans will hope that continues against Les Monegasques.
Thomas Frank should make midfield change against Monaco
Xavi Simons has brought creativity to Spurs, which is something they definitely missed in the first half against Monaco.
The midfield trio of Rodrigo Bentancur, Joa Palhinha and Lucas Bergvall have been unable to cope with the French club’s attacking threat, and the lack of creativity in the middle of the park has affected Tottenham in the final third of the pitch.

Simons can be a link between the defence and attack, which the North London outfit desperately need in the second half.
Frank should show more initiative and replace Bergvall with the former RB Leipzig star, as the travelling supporters need something to cheer for.
