Fans in total agreement after Mohammed Kudus’ Premier League debut for Tottenham
Thomas Frank enjoyed his first Premier League match in charge of Tottenham as his side put three past Burnley without reply on Saturday.
Frank and his players would have been disappointed after letting the UEFA Super Cup slip through their grasp in Udine, Italy, on Wednesday, 13 August.
Tottenham dominated Paris Saint-Germain and were leading 2-0 after 84 minutes. However, they conceded twice late on, sending the contest to penalties.
The North London side were beaten by their French opponents in the shoot-out, with Micky van de Ven issuing an apology to supporters.
However, there didn’t seem to be any hangover as Spurs convincingly beat Burnley 3-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Saturday, 16 August, as Mohammed Kudus built on his impressive performance against PSG.

Tottenham fans blown away by Kudus v Burnley
It wasn’t all plain sailing for Tottenham against Burnley, and Frank would have been left raging after one stat. However, in the end, Spurs were able to kick off the 2025/26 Premier League season with three points at home against Scott Parker’s side.
Kudus and Richarlison starred, with the former providing the latter with two assists either side of half-time, while last season’s top scorer Brennan Johnson added the third for the hosts.
However, it was Kudus who fans were left truly blown away by after the win in North London.
Kudus is going to be a big player for Tottenham
If his performance against Burnley is anything to go by, Tottenham should just hand Kudus their Player of the Season award right now.
In addition to his two assists, Kudus played five key passes and succeeded with two of his three attempted dribbles, as per Sofascore.
He also won five of his seven ground duels, played five accurate crosses into the box and won two fouls for his side, while covering 8.9 kilometres.
It was a spectacular display, and one which will have boosted optimism levels for the season ahead.
