Why Pedro Porro can give Tottenham and England fans the perfect revenge against Cristian Romero
Pedro Porro can get revenge for England, and most Tottenham Hotspur fans, by beating Cristian Romero's Argentina in the final.
The Three Lions were knocked out of the World Cup on Wednesday, suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Argentina.
Thomas Tuchel has kept the trust of the FA following the semi-final defeat, much to the disappointment of many England fans.
Following the result, Spurs duo Porro and Romero will now meet each other in the final, with both trying to win glory for their respective nations.
The final will take place on Sunday in New Jersey, with the winning side set to be presented the official trophy by the USA president Donald Trump.
However, many Tottenham and England fans will be rooting for Porro's Spain to win, especially given how Argentina and Romero specifically have acted since their victory.
Every reason why Tottenham and England fans will want Cristian Romero to lose
Tottenham News has extensively reported that Romero is set to leave Tottenham this summer, after almost leading the Lilywhites to the Championship in embarrassing fashion last season.
The centre-back was poor all campaign for Spurs, both on and off the field, despite being the "club captain", and tallied a 7.06 FotMob rating that hides the truth.
England fans may have seen Romero's antics following Argentina's win, as the 28-year-old has been nothing short of a terrible sportsmen, celebrating in the face of Jude Bellingham and others.
He then went on to call Gary Neville "stupid" after the game, saying that people in England love to talk, which feels like a comment that has extra weight to it.
England fans would love nothing more than to see their bitter rivals lose in the final, even if it is Spain who get their hands on the trophy.
There's every chance that Porro can do it for both Tottenham and England fans after Spurs supporters lost their respect for Romero.
Why Spain have upper hand on Argentina
Porro has had a much more impressive individual campaign than Romero, with an 8.09 FotMob rating compared to the latter's 7.53.
Spain have an overall FotMob score of 7.30 compared to Argentina's 7.20, but it goes beyond that.
Porro's nation concedes the least amount of goals per 90 in the tournament by some distance at 0.10, having only let one goal in, while Romero's country has allowed seven past them.
To add to that, Spain are much easier on the eye, averaging the third most possession at the World Cup with 63.8 per cent, 3.1 per cent more than Argentina.
Spain doesn't need luck like Argentina either, as the latter have been awarded the most penalties in the competition (three). And to no great surprise, Argentina are the dirtier side, with three more yellow cards, and 1.2 more fouls per match on average.
Porro can do most Tottenham and England fans a favour by beating Romero and Argentina in the final.
