How likely are Tottenham to finish in Champions League places?

Last season, the Premier League earned itself a fifth Champions League spot, a position which Liverpool managed to benefit from.

Now, these latest supercomputer predictions have been made assuming that extra spot will return to England.

According to Opta, Spurs have a 24.1 per cent chance of finishing in the top five following their simulations.

And if there is not fifth spot, they have an 18 per cent shot at top four.

Tottenham are just one of nine teams that have a higher than 20 per cent, with Brighton the only side below them (21.5 per cent).

However, despite being ranked as eight favourites, Spurs do not have Europe to contend with next season.

Certainly after the last two league campaigns, Tottenham having a near one-in-four chances of making Europe's premier competition is still an optimistic outlook.

Additionally, even qualifying for the Europa League this season would be a massive boost and the right step for Spurs to take as they look to rebuild.

The financial boost of qualifying should also not go understated, potentially allowing Spurs to further kick on in the following season.

Could Tottenham fans dream about the title?

Leicester once went from 17th to 1st in back-to-back seasons and Spurs have a more talented squad, so could they?

Well, their chances are not nil according to the supercomputer.

The projections shared by the data company state that Spurs are the seventh favourites to lift the league title.

They come in with a 2.9 per cent chance of doing so. Unfortunately, it is bitter rivals Arsenal who top the charts with a 38 per cent chance.
