Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky made his Czechia debut against Spain on Saturday.

The 23-year-old has represented his country across numerous youth levels, but has required patience at senior level.

He's been called up to the senior side before, but heading into Saturday's Nations League clash with Spain, was yet to make his debut.

No longer is that the case, as the Spurs shot-stopper was finally granted his first cap against the world champions.

Luis de la Fuente's side ran out 3-1 winners, however, marking his first Czechia game with a defeat.

But Kinsky wasn't too harsh on himself after the game, and he had every right to be proud of his performance despite conceding three goals.

What did Antonin Kinsky say about stopping Lamine Yamal's goal?

Spain took the lead after just six minutes in Oviedo, with prodigal talent Lamine Yamal firing past Kinsky in the Czechia goal.

Rodri made it 2-0 on 35 minutes before the Czechs got one back with 20 minutes to play in the second half.

However, Ladislav Krecji was sent off with five minutes to go, and that enabled Spain to seal the three points through Mikel Merino on 89 minutes.

Speaking via Czech outlet iDNEZ, Kinsky doesn't believe he could've done anything to prevent Yamal's opening goal.

"I don't think there was much you could have done. Good shot, he wrapped it around me, he even tightened it up, even though he was shooting from a step," he said.

"We know his quality and we expected him to get into the chances.

"We didn't want to give him space and time, but they're setting up like that around the penalty area and he knows how to use it.

"I have to focus more on strength and speed to get there next time."

So, apart from conceding three goals, why does Kinsky actually deserve his flowers from his Spain performance?

Roberto De Zerbi's perfect message to Antonin Kinsky will only benefit Tottenham

How many saves did Kinsky make vs Spain?

It would be very easy to look at the fact Kinsky conceded three goals against Spain and draw a conclusion on his display based on that.

That, however, would be highly unfair on the Tottenham keeper, as his underlying numbers from the defeat prove.

Per FotMob, Kinsky made a whopping seven saves on Saturday from Spain's 10 shots on target, which saw him produce a goals prevented number of 0.72.

He was also accurate with 74 per cent of his pass attempts, played five accurate long balls and made five saves from shots taken inside the box.

Kinsky made seven throws, 12 recoveries and took 58 touches, which was the most of any Czechia player on the pitch.

Czechia may have conceded three, but if it wasn't for Kinsky it could've been a cricket score in Spain.

Roberto De Zerbi must be thrilled at Kinsky's numbers from his Czechia debut, and should convince him that this a young keeper worth backing.
