Tottenham Hotspur's win against Aston Villa was a step in the right direction, but the Lilywhites must still be wary of relegation based on what Tim Sherwood has revealed.

Roberto De Zerbi has done a remarkable job since coming into the N17 outfit, with the injury crisis doing little to falter his work.

Spurs secured back-to-back wins for the first time this season since the opening two games of the campaign.

That win has taken them out of the relegation zone, with West Ham falling to a 3-0 loss against Brentford on Saturday.

While positivity is seeping through, Tottenham's Premier League season could still end in heartbreak amid a new reveal.

What has Tim Sherwood revealed about Tottenham?

Tottenham fans have come away from beating Aston Villa with plenty of positives, and supporters may be feeling more belief.

Former Spurs manager Sherwood is certainly feeling that despite revealing quite the negative statistic live on air.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, Sherwood stated: "I'm just going to mention Tottenham are third in the league away from home."

The reveal left the presenter on the channel shocked, with them simply replying: "That's staggering."

Sherwood continued to say: 'When I heard that, I nearly fell off my chair. Third away from home and 19th at home.

"Now, they have two games at home and one away at their bogey team in Chelsea. Why can't they get the performances at home? They haven't got the characters. The fans can't do any more. Well now they have a manager whose team are mirroring him. I think you'll see it now."

With Spurs in 17th place, they will certainly be hoping that Sherwood is correct that they can finally turn around their form at home.

De Zerbi's Tottenham look entirely different and more determined, and perhaps the home crowd can respond to that.

However, the data behind the 57-year-old's words do not paint much of a positive picture.

The numbers behind Tim Sherwood's Tottenham reveal

This campaign, Tottenham have won seven, drew five and lost six away from home. They average 1.44 points in games on the road.

In comparison, they have won just two home games, drawing five and losing 10. They average just 0.64 points in games at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Now, ahead of the end of the season, Tottenham have just one away game left this season, and while that may see Spurs get a result, it comes against Chelsea, a side they do not often beat.

In the last 15 Premier League matches between the Stamford Bridge side and the Lilywhites, only two have ended in a win for Tottenham.

Victory against Aston Villa was certainly a step in the right direction, but poor home form and a game against their bogey side leave Spurs in a precarious position.

Ultimately, this statistic could be the defining factor as to whether Tottenham stay in the Premier League.
