Tottenham about to see best of Andy Robertson after 'heroic' and 'sensational' Scotland scenes
Tottenham Hotspur have seen the best of Andy Robertson while he's away with Scotland.
The left-back completed a free transfer switch to North London in the summer.
After years of success at Liverpool, there was hope he would bring quality and experience to the Spurs squad.
That hasn't worked out at this stage as his performances have left plenty to be desired.
There has been plenty of frustration aimed towards the 32-year-old as a result.
Robertson has been given the chance do turn that around with Scotland, and he's done his best to do exactly that.
What did Andy Robertson do for Scotland vs Slovenia?
The full-back has long been a true star for the Tartan Army.
That is summed up by him clocking up over 100 appearances for his country.
It is an achievement that anyone would be proud of.
His special night came on Tuesday as that milestone was celebrated ahead of the encounter with Slovenia.
Robertson helped to cap that off as he made a stunning block to deny Zan Vipotnik in the first half at Hampden Park.
The moment sparked a stunned reaction from BBC Scotland commentator Liam McLeod as he dubbed the Spurs man "heroic".
That was added to by former attacker James McFadden on co-comms duty.
He said: "It's sensational from Andy Robertson because the touch here from Vipotnik is excellent.
"Jack Hendry is in the wrong position, turns his back, which you should never do, but Andy Robertson does not give it up.
"He's stopped a certain goal there. You think he's scoring; it's a vital intervention from the captain."
That will certainly go down well in North London as we look into how he can improve at Tottenham.
How could Tottenham see the best of Robertson?
The summer signing has already clocked up six competitive appearances for the Lilywhites.
It's hard to say that any of those have brought up any "sensational" moments.
He doesn't seem to be playing with confidence.
Robertson summed that up by keeping the ball in play for no reason before Johan Manzambi opened the scoring last time out against Aston Villa.
He misplaced 11 passes that day and maintained a cross completion of just 29 per cent.
Throw that in by his failure to put up a single block or interception while committing one foul, you can see where the issues are.
The left-back now needs to learn from his own Scotland example to prove a point at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
It won't be easy, but Robertson has proved that he has quality to rely on.
