Sandro Tonali has eased at least some concerns over his move to Tottenham in his displays against Everton.

The Italian has failed to hit the ground running in N17, following his big money move from Newcastle.

The pressure of a high price tag may certainly be weighing on his shoulders.

But as the weeks go on, the signs of improvement from the Italian international have been there to see.

As Tottenham sought their first win of the season against Everton, Tonali was once more thrusted into the starting lineup as Roberto De Zerbi looks to play him into form.

And once more, Tonali brought hope that his career for the Lilywhites can turnaround.

Tonali has had his early critics at Tottenham so far, and truthfully, they have been deservedly awarded.

But the tides are beginning to turn, with Mark Schwarzer left in disbelief on what he saw Tonali produce.

Speaking on BBC Sport Radio 5, former Premier League goalkeeper and now pundit Schwarzer was in awe of Tonali.

In the 30th minute, Tonali clipped a ball over the Everton backline, with the quality on show something Schwarzer couldn't believe he had seen.

He stated: "Sandro Tonali's ball is unbelievable. It's perfectly weighted over the top of the Everton defence. As Archie Gray is running through it lands right on his foot, but he just can't get the control."

As stated it was not the only moment in the match, with Tonali in the 14th minute once more putting a dangerous ball into the box.

Schwarzer said: "Sandro Tonali's ball is excellent, you can see Savio's run to the far post is brilliant."

It is those moments that show that Spurs have truly got a top player on their hands.

Even if the early stages of his Tottenham career have not quite lived up to expectations yet.

Tonali will be able to hold his head high despite Tottenham drawing 0-0 against Everton.

Throughout the game, as per Fotmob, Tonali covered more distance than any other Tottenham player at 11.4 kilometres.

The next highest was Andrew Robertson with 10 kilometres.

Furthermore, Tonali completed both of his long passes attempted, as well as his only dribble.

While he ended the game with the joint-most defensive contributions for the N17 outfit alongside Archie Gray and Jan Paul van Hecke.

Finally, Tonali created the most expected assists in the game with 0.31, topping off what may be his best performance for Tottenham so far.

There are signs things are changing for the Italian, and hopefully soon the results begin to change with it.
