Tottenham star Son Heung-min scoring against Hoffenheim will "do him the world of good", Peter Crouch has said.

The South Korean forward scored two in the Lilywhites' 3-2 Europa League win over the German side on Thursday (23 January).

The first strike was the 32-year-old's second goal in his last eight matches in all competitions for the North London outfit.

Speaking live on TNT Sports (23 January, 18:39), Crouch said: "There's an element of fortune but that will do him the world of good.

"He's been feeling it a little bit Son recently, he's carrying a little bit of weight on his shoulders.

"Hopefully, that will help him."

Son Heung-min can step up for Tottenham

With the constant speculation on the future of manager Ange Postecoglou, Son can step up and help the Australian to save his job.

The 131-cap international has been a shadow of his former self lately as he has struggled to correct Spurs' poor run of form.

Son is not able to carry the squad on his back as he has done previously with a major injury crisis decimating the Lilywhites.

The next fortnight is a defining one for Postecoglou and his captain will need to take the momentum from his goals into the next few matches.

Victory against IF Elsborg in the final Europa League league-phase match will guarantee automatic progress to the round of 16 and Spurs could reach the EFL Cup final if they can hold on to their 1-0 semi-final first-leg lead against Liverpool.

Son could be the man to save Postecoglou if he can rediscover his best form in the next few weeks.
