Roy Keane wasted no time in firing a dig at Arsenal after Tottenham won the Europa League final.

Tottenham ended their 17-year run without a major trophy on Wednesday night, securing a 1-0 victory over Man United to bring the Europa League title to North London.

When taking into account the struggles they've had domestically this season, it was imperative that Ange Postecoglou delivered success via Europe, and he did just that.

Celebrations in North London will live on through to the summer, though, for Arsenal fans, they may want to avoid social media for a while, especially after what Keane had to say.

Tottenham win the Europa League final

Quite literally everything hinged on Tottenham's ability to find success via the Europa League, and they can now rest easy knowing they have achieved that.

With Champions League football now in the bag, summer plans have just gotten a whole lot easier for Spurs, who would have suffered dramatically had they not won the final.

However, by doing so, they ended their 17-year run without a major trophy, and have now won more than Arsenal this season, and Keane was quite happy to point that out.

Via CBS Sports (21 May), Keane said: "Spurs have won more than Arsenal this season. When you think of the clubs out there, Spurs get criticised as much as anyone."

Tottenham still have one more Premier League game to attend to before they can go away and celebrate their success, and they will undoubtedly be keen to end the season with a win.

Postecoglou faces summer of uncertainty

Had Tottenham lost the Europa League final, the likelihood is that Postecoglou could have been sacked as early as this morning.

However, now that they have won a trophy, his future at Spurs is very much up in the air.

It was claimed that he would face the sack regardless of the outcome in Bilbao, but there may now be second thoughts ahead of the summer, with several other decisions needed to be made in North London.
