Jamie Vardy appeared to aim a dig at former teammate James Maddison after the striker scored against Tottenham on Sunday.

Spurs supporters appeared to turn on Ange Postecoglou as they watched their side lose 2-1 to Leicester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League on 26 January.

Daniel Levy was also subject to anger from the home faithful, who were no doubt riled up by Vardy.

After the striker had levelled the score just one minute into the second half, the Englishman celebrated by performing Maddison's darts celebration in front of the Spurs supporters [via BBC Sport, 26 January, 3:03 pm].

Vardy is known for his eye-catching celebrations and has often wound Spurs supporters up down the years. Therefore, no one in the stadium would have been surprised to see him aim a dig toward the North London club after scoring yet another goal against them.

However, some fans might have been surprised that he aimed a dig at his former teammate and friend Maddison, who is unlikely to have taken this well considering the result.

Maddison was a surprise absentee from the Spurs squad on Sunday, with Postecoglou sharing an injury update on the Englishman [via Alasdair Gold on X, 26 January].

And the midfielder will no doubt be keen to get back out on the pitch and help Spurs put things right.

However, it looks as though Tottenham need a lot more than just Maddison to turn things around after a run of six defeats from their past seven matches.

As a result of that poor form, Postecoglou looks to be in serious trouble. Therefore, Maddison might not have time to even return from injury before the Australian is sacked by Levy.
