James Maddison has missed out on the Tottenham squad to face Leicester City on Sunday.

Spurs will host the Foxes in the Premier League at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on 26 January, with Paul Merson sharing a Postecoglou sack claim in his prediction ahead of the clash.

Daniel Levy is expected to face backlash in North London on Sunday with fans furious as a result of the club's lack of activity in the winter transfer window.

However, it looks as though fans' attention might be taken away from Levy, with Maddison nowhere to be seen in the Tottenham squad, as confirmed via the club's official X account (26 January)

Fresh off their 3-2 UEFA Europa League win over Hoffenheim at the Rhein-Neckar-Arena on Thursday (23 January) - during which Maddison shone - Postecoglou will be keen for Spurs to record back-to-back wins against Ruud van Nistelrooy's side.

And with both managers under pressure, this promises to be a tense affair, as well as a very important match-up.

However, it looks as though things are going to be much more difficult for Spurs, with Maddison nowhere to be seen.

As per Sofascore, the Englishman was in fine form last time out, scoring the opening goal in Germany as well as playing three key passes, boasting an overall passing accuracy of 93 per cent.

In addition, the midfielder provided an assist and chipped in defensively, winning five ground duels, while also making two clearances and one tackle.

Therefore, the 28-year-old would have been keen to build on this performance against his former side. However, he is nowhere to be seen in North London, which could spell serious trouble for Postecoglou.
