Jamie Carragher predicts 17-month first for Man United with Tottenham score prediction
Jamie Carragher has offered his scoreline prediction for Tottenham Hotspur's trip to Manchester United next weekend.
Three weeks on from Spurs' most recent Premier League outing - a 3-2 loss at home to Aston Villa - they make the trip to Old Trafford on Saturday.
Roberto De Zerbi's side are still without a league win five games into the campaign and sit bottom of the table on two points.
Man United have not made the best of starts, either, having gone three league games without a win prior to the international break.
However, the Red Devils are still three points better off than Spurs in the early top-flight standings.
Despite that, Carragher is going slightly against the grain with his prediction.
Jamie Carragher predicts Tottenham win at Old Trafford
Tottenham's 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa was a hugely disappointing way to head into this prolonged international break
De Zerbi has had a few weeks to find a solution to Spurs' numerous issues, albeit a number of players are away with their countries.
One positive to come out of the Villa game was that Spurs finally found the back of the net in the league - twice, in fact.
And Carragher expects the Lilywhites to match that tally at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Predicting the scoreline for Sky Sports' Super 6, Carragher went with a 2-1 away win.
If that is the case, it will mean United have gone four Premier League games without a win for the first time in 17 months.
Tottenham could match unwanted Premier League record
Spurs lost this corresponding fixture 2-0 in February, with that ending a six-game unbeaten run against United in the Premier League.
Tottenham's overall record at Old Trafford is poor, having lost their 25 times in the Premier League era.
Only Everton at Arsenal (26 losses) have a worse away record against a single opponent in the competition's history.
If Tottenham are to win then they simply cannot afford to concede first to United.
That is because they have failed to win any of their last 37 Premier League games in which they have let in the first goal.
Let's just hope this three-week break has provided a chance to reset, with a win at Old Trafford the perfect tonic to kickstart the campaign.
