James Maddison makes behind-the-scenes impact on one Tottenham youth star in particular
Tottenham Hotspur starlet Luca Williams-Barnett was spotted taking on advice at half-time against Coventry City.
The 18-year-old is seen as arguably the brightest talents making his way through in North London.
He already has two appearances to his name, but both of those have come in the Carabao Cup.
The attacking midfielder is awaiting his Premier League debut having made the bench twice this season.
His latest place in the matchday squad came against Coventry City, but he remained a substitute.
Although that may be seen as a source of frustration, Williams-Barnett still got plenty out of the occasion.
Why Luca Williams-Barnett was happy vs Coventry City
The Lilywhites finally got a win on the board in the Premier League on Monday.
It was sweeter that it came against Frank Lampard, and there were certainly positives to take.
James Maddison was one of those as he marked his first start of the campaign with a stunning goal.
That was just one plus point for his performance as he inspired everyone around him.
Williams-Barnett was included in that as the ex-England international was seen speaking with the teenager before the second-half got underway.
Owner of the Lilywhite Rose account, John Wenham, believes that will have gone down well with the academy talent as he continues to learn.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Wenham said: "I know quite a few of the younger players and Maddison is someone who gets referenced to me quite a lot.
"He's someone who, after training, will look out for young players, speak to them and encourage them. He's just known around the club as a good guy.
"It doesn't surprise me with Luca Williams-Barnett, they'll have trained together many times in the first team and he'll be aware of his talent. I'm sure he will have enjoyed the advice from Maddison. There will be first-team opportunities and I'm delighted to see them in the first-team."
That will be music to the ears of everyone in N17 as they await his debut.
When could Williams-Barnett make his Premier League debut?
The thing is with football, nothing is ever linear.
The 2008-born talent is good enough to have been given a chance, but has been hampered by Spurs' struggles.
That continued against Coventry as it just wasn't the right time for him to be thrown in.
Should the Lilywhites go on a better run in the coming weeks and months, chances are more likely to be available.
With outings against Crystal Palace, Leeds United, Ipswich Town, Sunderland and Fulham coming up before the turn of the year, Williams-Barnett's Premier League debut could come sooner than expected.
It may also be impacted by injury and availability within the Tottenham squad, all things that could see his chance come sooner, or potentially later.
All we know is that he's getting his head down and is listening to advice of those around him.
