George Feeney could be the next breakout star at Tottenham.
The current Spurs side lacks talent that has come through the ranks at Hotspur Way.
Roberto De Zerbi spent approximately £314million in the summer, to bring his squad up to scratch after a miserable 17th-place finish.
However, as a result there is not much space for youngsters to make an impact, which is why Mikey Moore was sent out on loan.
Any academy graduates hoping to make the grade, will have to play in multiple positions like Archie Gray, to provide cover from the bench.
Feeney may well prove to be the Italian boss' Swiss army knife when he makes the step up to the senior ranks.
Why George Feeney will be attracting attention at Tottenham
Feeney can play in three totally different positions, which makes him an appealing prospect for De Zerbi.
He came to the Lilywhites from Glentoran in Northern Ireland, initially as a striker in July 2024.
However, he has transitioned into a central midfielder in his time in North London and signed his first professional contract in January 2025.
Recently though, he has featured as a right-back for Wayne Burnett's Under-21 side, showing his versatility.
He was one of the standout players in the 3-1 win over Derby County on 11 September.
How did Feeney perform against Derby?
Feeney showcased his ability against the Rams' youngsters at Grange Park.
The 18-year-old played the full 90 minutes, and recorded 60 touches in the contest, per data from Fotmob.
Feeney took three touches in the opposition box, and made nine passes into the final third, as he tried to drive his side up the pitch.
Defensively, he looked brilliant, making 10 contributions, with five tackles, four clearances and one interception
In terms of duels, he won 63 per cent on the ground and 67 per cent in the air.
If Feeney continues to show that level in the coming games, he may well have De Zerbi's attention sooner rather than later.
He may well have to settle for a role similar to Gray's, where he is thrown into the required position when injury or tactical demands need it, but he should be ready to do that.
