Guglielmo Vicario is skating on thin ice by making yet more demands to loyal Tottenham fans.

Tottenham need a response instantly after losing 1-0 at home to Chelsea on Saturday, as performances under Thomas Frank are starting to concern.

Tottenham play FC Copenhagen in the Champions League on Tuesday, as tensions continue to grow at N17.

Djed Spence and Micky van de Ven ignored Frank after the full-time whistle against the Blues, as a disconnection between the players, head coach, and fans is starting to emerge.

Now, Vicario's comments have only caused more unrest.

Guglielmo Vicario wants more help from Tottenham fans

On Monday, Vicario spoke about the growing discontent around the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as he asked fans for "help".

Vicario said via football.london: "I think probably in some moments during the game, probably when we are chasing, we need to have a little more cool heads.

"If we have a little bit more help from some situations coming from the stands, it could be, of course, better, but we cannot control it."

The goalkeeper may be regretting his choice of wording now, as Tottenham fans have taken to X to display their anger at his comments.

One Tottenham fan said: "Vicario needs to look inwards, not towards the crowd."

Another Spurs fan sarcastically said: "When you say 'help from the stands', are you requesting a pitch invasion to get the game abandoned?"

However, as frustrated as Spurs fans are, they may actually have to thank Vicario that they didn't lose by three or four goals against their London rivals in Chelsea.

Vicario was Tottenham's best player vs Chelsea

Vicario's comments have come at the completely wrong time, as the goalkeeper should have thought carefully about what to say.

Just about the whole team was poor against Chelsea, but Vicario's performance stood out statistically, so he needs more from those ahead of him to get more from the crowd.

Vicario has impressed for Tottenham in the past, and yet still has areas to improve on, but he needs to keep fans on side.

Unfortunately for the Spurs fanbase, they are going to have to suck up Vicario's comments, as the Italian looks set to keep his spot as the number one goalkeeper for the Lilywhites.
