Gabby Agbonlahor rips into 'absolute idiot' Richarlison as Tottenham exit still on

Gabby Agbonlahor hasn't held back when discussing Richarlison at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Brazilian is certainly a polarising figure and has been ever since coming in from Everton in 2022.

There have certainly been plenty of ups and downs throughout his time in North London.

The 29-year-old can rub fans up the wrong way and often does so with his poor performances.

That has seen him facing the exit door in North London throughout the summer.

Richarlison now looks set to depart, with transfer windows open in other countries still, leaving Agbonlahor to get one last dig in on the attacker.

What has Gabby Agbonlahor said about Richarlison?

Spurs haven't truly got their money's worth out of the Brazil international in the past four years.

He has been a figure of frustration, summed up by his omission from the World Cup over the summer.

He has since been afforded just one Premier League appearance as he was ultimately hooked by Roberto De Zerbi in the 3-0 defeat to Brentford.

Richarlison could soon be moving on from N17 and that has prompted conversation from Agbonlahor.

The former Aston Villa man has seriously ripped into the forward in a sizable rant via talkSPORT on Thursday.

He said: "There's words that I can't use to describe him on air, but I'll try to use the words you can say. He's a prat. An absolute idiot, let's be honest.

"When everyone watches him, he's not quick in behind, he can't hold the ball up. Can he score the odd goal? Yes he can, but his theatrics, his attitude stinks and his arrogance as well.

"For someone who's scored 75 Premier League goals in 276 appearances, he acts like he's that main guy. There's a reason why Carlo Ancelotti didn't pick him for the World Cup. He isn't a good striker. I just don't see it."

It is fair to say that a number of Spurs fans would probably agree after what they've seen from Richarlison over the years.

Is Agbonlahor right about Richarlison?

It has to be said that the ex-Watford man did contribute to 15 goals and assists in the Premier League last season.

That is a positive, but he is still noted down as being poor, which says a lot about his overall performance level.

Throughout the last campaign some damning stats prove exactly what Agbonlahor means.

Just 9.06 successful passes, 0.55 successful dribbles and a 42.4 per cent ground duel win rate per 90.

He was also dispossessed 1.38 times-a-game, which is a high figure and only highlights why fans were so often annoyed.

That doesn't paint a pretty picture, especially given it was arguably his best year in N17.

It looks to be the end of the road for Richarlison, and based on Agbonlahor's comments, it feels like the right time.
