Exclusive: Cole Palmer could face extended ban after Chelsea red card vs Tottenham
Spurs dominated their rivals in every aspect to leave with an incredible 2-0 win on the road.
It's only the second time in 37 visits that they've done that.
Simply put, Chelsea and their players couldn't handle that, with Cole Palmer sent off among various other yellows.
The England international was shown his marching orders for two yellow cards, for fouls on Mateus Fernandes and Conor Gallagher.
But, it could be much worse for him.
Why Cole Palmer could face further punishment
Keith Hackett was not impressed with the Chelsea midfielder's actions in this embarrassment.
His first booking came after recklessly running into the face of Fernandes, who had stopped an attack by using his hands.
Tottenham players were incensed, but a booking was deemed enough.
It didn't matter minutes later, when Palmer pressed his studs into Gallagher's ankle while making a challenge to be sent off.
Speaking exclusively to Tottenham News, Hackett believes that the review panel should punish him further for "two" red card offences.
"Cole Palmer should have been show a straight red for an off the ball violent conduct," the ex-PGMOL chief said.
"His opponent was literally on his knees when Palmer used his knee and body in a clear violent act.
"I am disappointed that when Chris Kavanagh showed Palmer a yellow card, there was no action taken by VAR.
"Once again we witness the petulance of Palmer."
Hackett continued: "He committed two red cards and I hope that the review panel will look at both these challenges and enforce a higher level of suspension than one game."
What next for Tottenham?
Roberto De Zerbi and his Spurs side have threatened to do this plenty of times, but never got their rewards.
On Saturday, on the biggest stage, away at Chelsea, they did just that.
Spurs made the likes of Palmer make these fouls, and his frustration came out in embarrassing fashion.
Morgan Rogers did the exact same, and they just couldn't handle it.
Tottenham will move on quickly and look to continue this run in the Premier League, while Chelsea will be forced to lick their wounds.
