Tottenham takeover: Dealbroker in mega-money talks with Qatari investors

Although the future looked bright under Ange Postecoglou, Tottenham now enter another transfer window in serious need of additions to the squad.

Inconsistent form this term leaves the Lilywhites sitting 11th in the Premier League and without a win in three league games meaning the Australian manager will be eager to boost his squad ahead of the second half of the season.

However, Daniel Levy is not well-known for spending too much and the Spurs chief will want to be measured in his business as suggested by the potential move for Sam Johnstone.

Levy’s ownership of the club has continued to draw criticism from supporters in North London with more protests taking place recently.

However, according to City AM, with a dealbroker in talks with Qatari investors about the potential takeover of an English club, this could prove to work on Tottenham’s side and encourage Levy to strike a deal.

Could Qatari investors buy into Tottenham?

City AM have reported that since leaving her role at St James’ Park, Amanda Staveley has been talking to Qatari investors about buying into another Premier League club.

Furthermore, the 51-year-old has been offered an advisory role with the 2034 Saudi Arabia World Cup and remains close to the Saudi Public Investment Fund meaning she is in a strong position when it comes to creating a deal, similar to the way she did with Newcastle United.

Staveley has been linked with Spurs for some time now with Ian Ladyman (21 December) reporting that the businesswoman remains interested in doing business with Levy after holding talks with the Spurs chief.

It seems as though Staveley is eager to strike a deal with Tottenham with her continuing to push for this deal for some time.

While Levy has invested financially before, the North London outfit has little to show for it under his reign and therefore, a big money investment could be just what the club needs to fire them to the next level.
