Tottenham have been linked with a takeover ever since Daniel Levy stepped down as chairman.

It has been suggested that Joe Lewis is keen to take Tottenham in a new direction. As such, there has been a huge shake-up at Hotspur Way.

Vinai Venkatesham officially became Tottenham CEO in the summer and has been praised for several changes since. Ange Postecoglou was dismissed as manager, while Donna-Maria Cullen left her role as Executive Director at Tottenham.

Now, the North London club continues to navigate the fallout of Levy leaving his position as Tottenham chairman.

Amanda Staveley not expected to make formal offer for Tottenham

It has been suggested that the floodgates could open for a Tottenham takeover now that Levy is no longer chairman.

Former Newcastle United director Amanda Staveley has been linked with a mega Spurs takeover bid. Her involvement makes sense, considering that in September 2024, Staveley was preparing to invest in Tottenham, alongside her husband, Mehrdad Ghodoussi.

  • Staveley aided the Saudi consortium takeover of Newcastle United
  • The British business executive left her role at Newcastle on 12 July, 2024

However, as reported by Sky News reporter Mark Kleinman via X on 7 September, a vehicle controlled by Staveley is set to issue a statement imminently stating it does not intend to make a former offer for Tottenham. This comes after heightened speculation in the wake of Levy's exit.

This comes as no surprise as the Lewis family are said to have no plans of selling their Tottenham shares and remains committed to the North London club.

What is next for Tottenham and ENIC?

In light of Levy's exit and the Lewis family's commitment, there will be more emphasis on Spurs' sporting results moving forward.

The North London side's movements in the summer market are demonstrative of this. The signings of Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani at Tottenham are unlike previous signings under Levy. This has given rise to the idea that the "wheels were in motion" for Levy's exit as Spurs chairman.

With Mohammed Kudus and Joao Palhinha also arriving at Hotspur Way, and Thomas Frank being named head coach, it is clear that a new era at Spurs is only getting started.
