Tottenham sale update: All we know about ENIC’s plans after Daniel Levy exit

Tottenham could welcome new owners to Hotspur Way now that Daniel Levy is no longer chairman.

The North London club entered a huge period of change over the summer. Ange Postecoglou was replaced by Thomas Frank at Tottenham welcomed several new signings at Hotspur Way.

Meanwhile, Donna-Maria Cullen left her position as executive director, and Vinai Venkatesham got to work at Spurs CEO after arriving from rivals Arsenal.

What is the context behind a potential Tottenham sale?

Tottenham are currently owned by EINC, which has around an 87 per cent stake.

However, it has been suggested that Levy’s stepping down as Tottenham chairman has opened the floodgates to a potential sale.

Spurs named Peter Charrington as their new non-executive chairman after the departure of Levy. As the former CEO of Citi Private Bank and current director at ENIC, it has been stated that Charrington could navigate a potential Tottenham sale.

Who are the interested parties in the case of a Tottenham sale?

A couple of potential buyers have been linked with Tottenham in recent days.

Former Director of Newcastle United, Amanda Staveley, was seen as the likeliest Tottenham takeover option. She left her role at Newcastle in July 2024, and it was believed that she was keen on a new challenge.

However, Tottenham stated on Sunday that Spurs owners ENIC have received and rejected two expressions of interest expressions of interest for its stake in the club.

One was from Staveley’s PCP International and the second from a consortium led by Roger Kennedy and Wing Fair-Ng.

The two interested parties now have until 5pm on 5 October to either announce a firm intention to make an offer for Spurs or confirm that they do not intend to make an offer.

What is ENIC’s stance on a potential Tottenham sale?

It is currently understood that ENIC have no intention to sell Tottenham at this time. The North London club are said to be valued in the region of £4billion.

Indeed, the company are keen to invest in Spurs and hopes to see this translate into sporting achievements.

This can already be seen through Tottenham’s summer transfer window, which saw several new recruits arrive at Hotspur Way. Furthermore, the signings of Xavi Simons and Mohammed Kudus are seen as a step towards more lucrative transfers in the future.

Therefore, it seems that ENIC are keen to remain at the helm at Spurs as it stands.
