Tottenham Hotspur could soon take Manchester City to task.

Spurs have had their fair share of issues this season as they struggle to find their feet under Roberto De Zerbi.

That is the opinion of a source who previously worked at a relegated Premier League team, who spoke to the i Paper.

They said: "I imagine it is incredibly hard to prove, but given the financial struggles at Championship clubs, teams relegated after defeats to City or those who lost several key players to City in that period may be considering action.

"It may be an issue of quickly examining the possibility, but some will be more persistent than others. It could become a bit of a free-for-all."

With Spurs knowing that applies to them, it could make for an interesting next step.

With many different parties set to get involved in legal matters, Man City could find themselves with a bill stretching beyond £100million.

The Lilywhites will likely look to get involved in that, especially due to the sale of Walker.

The England international left N17 in the summer of 2017 just after Tottenham had finished second in the Premier League, seven points off champions, Chelsea.

They sat eight points clear of Man City, but fell to 23 points behind the following year as Walker helped to win his first Premier League title.

That may seem minimal, but it contributed to the change in direction for the two sides as City went on to win another five league titles, while Spurs have got largely worse year on year.
