Tottenham and Levy set for lucrative payday after Deadline Day announcement
Daniel Levy should be busy finalising transfers for Tottenham – but it seems as though the Spurs chairman has other priorities.
Tottenham have been embarrassed on several occasions in the winter transfer window, with multiple players rejecting moves to the club, and Johan Lange doing very little to suggest he shouldn’t be sacked.
Ange Postecoglou is still without several first-team players and the club should be doing everything in their power to address this issue before 11 pm on Monday 3 February – especially after they saw a £70million bid for Marc Guéhi turned down.
However, a recent announcement demonstrates that Levy is far more interested in what is happening off the pitch in North London, rather than what is happening on it.
As announced via the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium official website on Monday (3 February) – which just so happens to also be Deadline Day – Beyoncé will be performing four dates at Spurs’ home this summer.
While this will no doubt generate a huge payday for the club, it also demonstrates just where Levy’s priorities lie at Tottenham.
Daniel Levy’s priorities clear at Tottenham
While Beyoncé performing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium is arguably a good thing for the North London side – and doesn’t necessarily impact any transfer plans – the timing of the announcement is telling.
While fans are waiting to see if the club announce any arrivals on Deadline Day, news of a concert in their stadium wouldn’t have been received well.
This is clear as the announcement hasn’t been posted on Tottenham Hotspur’s official website, while a social media post about the concert was deleted [via The Spurs Watch, 3 February].
Based on this, it is clear that Levy knew the decision wouldn’t be popular. However, the announcement was still made, albeit slightly secretively.

Therefore, it is clear where the chairman’s priorities lie, and while Spurs fans wait to see if any more players are signed, at least they can pass the time by booking work off to attend Beyoncé’s show.
