Source close to Lewis family immediately reacts to shock Daniel Levy exit at Tottenham
Tottenham have been plunged into chaos after Daniel Levy’s exit announcement.
Levy has stepped down as Tottenham executive chairman after 25 years in the role in a shocking development.
Tottenham supporters often protested against Levy’s running of the club, but he has usually just brushed it off and continued in his role.
However, this time, he will depart the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, leaving plenty of questions for the future of the club under Thomas Frank.

Tottenham set for new era after Daniel Levy exit
There have been several moves to refresh the leadership, with the most significant being Venai Venkatesham joining Tottenham in April as chief executive officer.
Sky News’ Sports correspondent Rob Harris shared what a source close to the Lewis family, who own the ENIC Group, which owns an 86.58 per cent stake in the club, told him about the Levy exit situation.
Taking to X, he shared the sources’ words: “Generations of the Lewis family support this special football club, and they want what the fans want – more wins more often. This is why you have seen recent changes, new leadership and a fresh approach”
“In Vinai (Venkatesham), Thomas (Frank) and Peter Charrington, they believe they are backing the right team to deliver on this. This is a new era.”
Tottenham trio have all the pressure after what source said
The fact that Frank, Venkatesham and Charrington have been charged with running the new era in North London brings major pressure.
Levy was often the scapegoat when anything went wrong in N17, given his prominent position, and now that safety net is gone.
- Levy was the longest-serving chairman in the Premier League
- Fans often protested against Levy over several issues with the club
- The new trio will be the scapegoats now that he has left his post
Tottenham supporters want the club to push on to further success after winning the Europa League, and if the trio fail to deliver, the consequences could be huge.
They have been tasked to lead the rebuild, but there is no guarantee that they will get it right, and Levy may be reflected upon in a more positive light if they fail to do so.
Tottenham claim there will be no changes to the ownership, which implies that Levy will still play a role behind the scenes.
Whether that will hamper the new leadership structure or help them to settle in, given his vast experience within the game, remains to be seen.
With no club more profitable during Levy’s reign, they have the perfect financial background to start.
