‘Joe Lewis may have found buyer for Tottenham’ in new takeover bombshell

Tottenham have been linked with a high-profile takeover for what feels like years.

Daniel Levy’s shock exit over the summer led to increased speculation, but the Lewis family doubled down on their hardened stance to stick around.

But that hasn’t led to any success on the pitch.

Thomas Frank is under incredible sack pressure, with Tottenham sitting 15th in the Premier League and only six points ahead of the relegation zone.

Despite that, only money was spent on Conor Gallagher and Souza in January.

Could lack of January spend lead to Tottenham takeover?

Lord Alan Sugar has a theory behind the lack of money spent in January, and it’s one that many Spurs fans immediately got behind.

The former Tottenham owner was left baffled by the winter transfer activity, insisting that more needed to be done if he was sticking around.

“Really can’t understand why Joe Lewis, the billionaire, is not throwing money into Tottenham,” he wrote.

“We hardly dealt in the January window. Maybe he has a buyer in mind for the club.”

Who has been linked with Tottenham takeover?

Brooklyn Earick is the high-profile link to a Tottenham takeover, but who is he?

Earick started his journey with an internship at NASA, eventually founding Redacted RnD, who focus on technology, sports, media and entertainment.

With Tottenham worth over £4billion, it’s no surprise that the American was just one part of a consortium looking into a potential takeover last.

The Lewis family hold over 85 per cent of shares in Tottenham, so it will not be a cheap acquisition to take those over.

But, looking at the £47million spent last month, especially when Brennan Johnson was sold for £35m, it doesn’t make for good reading when Spurs are desperate.

Tottenham are looking awful in the Premier League, and relegation wouldn’t shock anyone, which is how bad things have become in North London after a 17th-placed finish last season, too.

Gallagher hasn’t changed anything, not that anybody expected him to, and that is down to the Lewis family for not committing extra funds.

Unless they already have their exit sorted.
