The Lewis Family are providing another significant cash injection into Tottenham Hotspur.

You have to go back to 1991 to find Joe Lewis and ENIC's (English National Investment Company) first involvement with Tottenham.

It was in that year in which they acquired an initial minority stake in Spurs, before purchasing a further 27 per cent share from Lord Alan Sugar in 2000.

February 2001 saw ENIC secure full majority control from Lord Sugar, and Spurs have been under their ownership ever since.

This summer reaffirmed their financial commitment to the Lilywhites with Roberto De Zerbi backed in the transfer market with signings like Sandro Tonali.

But the Lewis Family (who now Lewis has passed control of ENIC to as well) aren't finished investing in Tottenham yet.

How much money are the Lewis Family pledging in new Tottenham investment?

Running a successful football club isn't simply about giving the manager vast sums of money to spend in the transfer market.

There is of course, so much more to it than that, with good and wise owners understanding the importance of investing in all aspects of the club.

Bloomberg UK report on Wednesday that the Lewis Family are providing a fresh £120million investment into Tottenham.

It's revealed that the family will purchase further shares in ENIC, thus increasing their stake in Spurs.

The report claims that this £120m will be spent on the general upkeep of the club rather than for use in the transfer market.

Once this cash lands, this will bring their total investment into Spurs to £320m in the last 12 months.

But will this latest funding plan involve former Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy?

How much stake does Levy still hold in ENIC?

September last year saw Levy vacate his role as Tottenham chairman after almost 25 years in the role.

However, that didn't necessarily end his involvement with Spurs, as he still holds a stake in ENIC.

That currently sits at around 27 per cent, and the 64-year-old wasn't involved in the most recent funding project into Totttenham.

Bloomberg reveals that as of right now, it remains unclear whether Levy will play any part in this fresh wave of investment.

The report claims that Tottenham representatives and the Lewis Family both declined to comment.

It's also stated that Levy himself didn't return messages seeking a comment on the matter straight away.

One thing for sure, this Spurs slump won't be tolerated for much longer.
