Destiny Udogie blasted after development away from Tottenham
Destiny Udogie has endured a difficult season, and it appears as though things are only getting tougher for the Tottenham defender.
Udogie was one of many players to be impacted by Spurs’ severe injury crisis this season, which has seen the medical staff at Tottenham called into question.
After a largely impressive debut season in North London, this injury setback, as well as some questionable performances, has prevented Udogie from kicking on.
Djed Spence’s fine form for Tottenham has seen him emerge as a top-choice full-back for Postecoglou, which has forced Udogie to spend some time on the bench in recent weeks.
The 22-year-old was left out of arguably Spurs’ biggest game of the season as the North London side beat AZ Alkmaar 3-1 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Thursday 13 March to advance to the last-eight of the UEFA Europa League.
However, despite these struggles, Udogie was still selected by the Italy national team for the March international break, although it would appear as though this isn’t quite going to plan either.

Udogie struggles for Italy against Germany
Spurs’ players have had a mixed international break thus far, with Son Heung-min struggling for South Korea, while Mikey Moore and Yves Bissouma both bagged themselves assists for England’s Under-19s and Mali respectively.
And based on the reaction to Udogie’s performance in Italy’s 2-1 defeat to Germany in the first leg of their UEFA Nations League quarter-final tie at the San Siro on Thursday (20 March), it appears as though the left-back is one of those struggling.
While there was some light praise scattered across social media, it seems plenty of Italian fans don’t feel Udogie is good enough to play for the national team.
Udogie needs to turn things around at Tottenham
After his first few months as a Tottenham player, plenty of supporters were excited about Udogie. However, he hasn’t kicked on this season and looks a player low on confidence.

Destiny Udogie | 28 | 0 | 1 |
Therefore, he needs to step up between now and the end of the season, otherwise, he could find himself on the outskirts of both the Tottenham and Italy teams, or even worse, sold by Spurs.
