Tottenham told to dock Son and Maddison wages after ‘disgraceful’ footage

Tottenham fans want to see Daniel Levy dock players’ wages after seeing their side lost to AZ Alkmaar in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Spurs have had it rough this season with the North London outfit only having the Europa League left to fight for after being knocked out of the FA Cup by Aston Villa on 9 February.

None of Ange Postecoglou’s men were up to scratch against AZ Alkmaar and it’s evident that fans are sick and tired of the performances their team are putting in.

Tottenham fans rage at what Son Heung-min and James Maddison did

Spurs’ fanbase were already spewing with rage at the fact they’d lost the game, never mind after some footage of Son Heung-min and James Maddison that emerged after the clash.

When posted on X (6 March), the clip shows Son and Maddison both hovering around a free-kick on the edge of AZ Alkmaar’s box.

But, instead of having a shot towards the goal, the duo chose to play a one-two with one another which ended up with the ball at Kevin Danso’s feet where it was eventually kicked out of play by the Austrian.

One supporter chipped in with their opinion and said they should be docked a “season’s wages” while another claimed that they doubt “you’d see that in non-league, it’s that bad”.

Tottenham need to get their act together soon

It’s hard to think of Tottenham having a worse-performing season than the one they’re currently putting their fans through.

Granted, injuries have taken a major toll on the effectiveness of their team across all competitions but they should still be able to beat AZ Alkmaar.

The Europa League is the last thing that Postecoglou and his men have going for them this season as they currently sit 13th in the top flight and have been knocked out of the Carabao Cup and FA Cup.

If the North London outfit don’t manage to beat the Eredivisie outfit in the return leg on 13 March, it’s hard to see how Postecoglou’s role as manager can be justified any longer.

Only time will tell if Tottenham will get out of their rut but if they don’t, it’ll be a massive embarrassment.
