Tottenham fans want Brighton clash cancelled as brand-new footage surfaces

Tottenham supporters want to cancel their final Premier League game against Brighton, as new footage emerges days after their UEFA Europa League final win.

Ange Postecoglou kept his promise of winning a trophy in his second season as Tottenham beat Manchester United 1-0 in the Europa League final at the Estadio de San Mamés on Wednesday (21 May).

Brennan Johnson scored the match-winner as Tottenham fought off Manchester United’s advances in a gut-wrenching final few minutes.

Now, still riding high after their Europa League win, Tottenham fans are calling for their Premier League clash with Brighton at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday (25 May) to be cancelled as footage of the players surfaces on social media.

And footage uploaded to X by The Spurs Web (23 May) shows the party did not end in Bilbao, with the Tottenham players filmed continuing their celebrations late into the night in London on Thursday (22 May).

In the footage, the players sing the praises of the match-winner with chants of “Johnson again, ole ole.”

As a result of the celebrations, supporters are questioning whether the players are in the right frame of mind to take to the pitch against Brighton.

Daniel Levy has a decision to make on Postecoglou

Postecoglou was laughed at after he committed to winning Tottenham a trophy in his second season. However, despite a series of setbacks, he made good on his promise.

Postecoglou’s future at Spurs has been in doubt for months after a difficult season. However, after winning the Europa League and claiming a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League, he could still be the man to guide Tottenham into the future.

Therefore, Levy has a big decision on his hands as Tottenham look to continue this trophy-winning feeling for years to come.
