Tottenham fans to ‘drive Timo Werner to airport’ as Spurs exit news revealed
Tottenham fans have said that they would drive Timo Werner to the airport if it meant that he’d no longer be a part of their club.
Since the start of the season, the future of the attacker has been brought into question due to the poor form he’s found himself in since his return to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on loan from RB Leipzig.
The likes of Son Heung-min, Brennan Johnson and Dejan Kulusevski are just some of the names ahead of him in Ange Postecoglou’s ranks, which shows how unlikely a future at the club for him is.
As per a report shared by Lilywhite Rose via X (10 January), it now seems like the German is on the radar of Eintracht Frankfurt as a potential replacement for Omar Marmoush.
Timo Werner should have done better while he was at Tottenham
Last season, there were glimpses of promise from the former Chelsea man that made it seem like it was a good idea for Spurs to make another move for him.
However, in 2024/25, that really hasn’t been the case with one fan saying they’d “personally drive him to the airport” and another said they’d “chip-in” for his ticket.

At the moment, it still feels like we’re too early in the stages of any sort of deal to figure out whether Werner will actually exit the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in January.
The attacker has evidently not been in the best form this term and due to the amount of options they have among their ranks, it feels silly for the German to stick around.
While his versatility does help Spurs cover more than one position, it feels like Postecoglou could bring someone better in for the money they’d receive for his transfer.
Only time will tell what the future has in store for both parties but at the moment, it feels like an exit makes the most sense.
