Tottenham fans plea with Postecoglou after Mikey Moore announcement drops – ‘Why?’
Tottenham academy graduate Mikey Moore notched an assist as England Under-19s defeated Wales 2-0 on Wednesday.
He has made 16 appearances across all competitions this season, including five Europa League outings in which he has scored one goal and created one assist.
However, Moore has been named in Ange Postecoglou’s Premier League starting 11 on just two occasions this term, despite Tottenham’s struggles in the top flight.
He has not featured for Spurs at senior level since being hooked from the action at half-time in their 2-1 FA Cup defeat at Aston Villa last month.

Spurs fans issue Postecoglou plea after England exploits
Tottenham’s official X account posted on Thursday: “An assist and a 2-0 win for Mikey and England U19s yesterday (19 March).”
But their congratulations to Moore were greeted by Spurs fans wondering why the winger has not been handed game-time at club level of late, with one user commenting: “If only he played for Tottenham Hotspur.”
Another supporter added: “Is he allowed off the naughty step yet?”
Postecoglou should hand Moore regular playing time
There is no doubt that Postecoglou has largely done a good job with Spurs’ young talents, as both Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall have been regular features for the club this term.
The 16 senior appearances Moore has made this term at the age of just 17 will have also helped with his ongoing development as a senior player.
However, Spurs supporters are right to wonder what could have been if the starlet had been given more regular game time this season, while their side sit just 14th in the Premier League after Sunday’s 2-0 loss to Fulham.
Moore is a highly gifted player, and his assist while playing at youth international level for England are just another endorsement of that.
While Tottenham are enduring a woeful domestic season, Moore has remained an unused substitute in recent weeks, which is questionable.
The wideman will hope that his success for the England U19s will put him back in Postecoglou’s thinking when it comes to naming his next starting 11.
With little left to play for this season, it’s time to throw him in at the deep end.
