Tottenham fans mock Bukayo Saka over ‘awful’ Arsenal incident v Real Madrid

Tottenham supporters do not have much to laugh about at the moment when it comes to the rivalry with Arsenal.

The Gunners are starring in the Champions League and chasing Premier League titles, while Spurs sit 15th in the table and are relying on Europa League success to save their season.

However, they did have a moment to mock Arsenal star Bukayo Saka after what happened in the clash with Real Madrid on 16 April.

Saka howler gives Tottenham fans some satisfaction

The Gunners star is regarded as one of the best English players around at the moment but he endured a nightmare moment at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Mikel Arteta’s side held a 3-0 lead from the first leg and had the chance to make their advantage even bigger from the penalty spot when Raul Asencio fouled Mikel Merino.

However, Saka stepped up and tried to panenka the spot kick but it failed to fool Thibault Courtois and the Belgian saved it.

Tottenham fans relentlessly mock Saka for penalty blunder

It is safe to say that Lilywhites supporters had no sympathy for the Three Lions star after his miss.

The Spurs faithful relentlessly mocked Saka on social media after the miss, in a reminder that the rivalry is still alive despite Spurs’ circumstances at the moment.

The Gunners star may well have the last laugh if his side keeps their hefty advantage from the first leg at The Emirates and progress to a semi-final clash with Paris Saint-Germain.

If they ultimately go on to win it, it will give them the ultimate flex over Ange Postecoglou’s side as they will have finally lifted the trophy that their rivals could not in 2019.

However, Spurs could soften the blow by winning a trophy of their own, if they can secure the Europa League title.

There is a long way to go for that to happen though, for both sides, as the North London teams will face tough opposition if they manage to progress from their respective ties.

Spurs should focus on their own European clash with Eintracht Frankfurt, rather than worrying about what Saka is doing, even if it does provide some slight respite from their misery.
