Tottenham fans all say same thing about Ange Postecoglou in Nottingham Forest defeat vs Arsenal

Ange Postecoglou’s recent showing has vindicated Tottenham’s decision to let him leave.

Postecoglou was sacked by Tottenham after he finished 17th in the Premier League last season.

This came after Postecoglou lifted the UEFA Europa League with Spurs, with the decision to sack the Aussie controversial among fans and players.

The Australian has since been appointed as Nottingham Forest head coach after former Spurs manager Nuno Espirito Santo was sacked. However, it has gotten off to a less-than-ideal start.

Tottenham fans remark Ange Postecoglou ‘had’ to go

Tottenham fans were split in the middle when Postecoglou was sacked by the North London club.

Some were devastated about the decision to dismiss the man who had won them their first trophy in 17 years. Others pointed out that his terrible Premier League results are a reason to back the decision.

It seems those who were ‘Ange Out’ have already been vindicated by Nottingham Forest 3-0 defeat to Arsenal on Saturday, 13 September.

Tottenham fans took to X to comment on the recent game. One said: “Love Ange, but even an idiot can tell that Frank was better for long term.” Meanwhile, another added: “I thank Micky van de Ven every day.”

One more fan chimed in: “There is not a single fibre of my being that thinks this is gonna work out for Forest with Ange.”

Others were quick to comment on Postecoglou’s tactic and his struggles when playing with a low block, as well as the loss of some of his coaching staff at Spurs.

One said: “They don’t have Matt Wells either who I think did a lot of damage control for Ange with his coaching.” Another added: “Well, he’s carrying on from where he left off. He’s on for the record 23 league defeats.”

Another fan even pointed out that Morgan Gibbs-White could be regretting his decision not to sign for Tottenham. He said: “I know Gibbs White thinks about that Spurs move every night.”

What is Ange Postecoglou’s record at Tottenham?

Postecoglou spent 706 days as Tottenham manager after arriving before the 2023/24 season.

Despite lifting the Europa League and achieving European football, he struggled to remain consistent in the league.

His previous experience with Spurs and in the Premier League indicates that while he may lift a trophy or two as manager, Forest could take a hit in the league.
