‘Tottenham are cursed’ after what Mathys Tel did for France U-21s
Mathys Tel has failed to hit the heights of his potential throughout his loan spell at Tottenham but he’s shown everyone what he’s capable of on international duty.
The 24-year-old joined the Premier League side on a loan deal until the end of the season from Bayern Munich as Ange Postecoglou desperately tried to find some solutions to the problems his team have been facing.
Spurs have an option to buy Tel permanently next summer in a deal that would cost Daniel Levy £45million, but it remains unclear whether or not he is willing to green light that deal.
Tel has struggled to prove himself as a competent striking option for Postecoglou, which has led to a belief that Tottenham will not sign him permanently.
Jonathan David has been eyed as a potential replacement for Tel and someone who could make a positive impact for Spurs, but the on-loan Frenchman has shown people he’s capable of more.
Mathys Tel has dazzled for France’s Under-21s
Tel has failed to find the back of the net in the Premier League so far, but he quickly found his shooting boots when playing for France’s Under-21s team.
The teenager was called up to the team for this international break and found the back of the net twice against Slovakia’s Under-21s side to prove his qualities in the final third of the pitch.

It serves as a reminder to Tottenham fans exactly what he’s capable of achieving, but it also frustrated a lot of people that they haven’t seen more of that for them.

Ange Postecoglou isn’t getting the best out of his players
Tottenham fans were impressed by Tel’s individual performance for France’s Under-21s, but then questioned why their squad members are all delivering during the international break despite not doing so at club level.
Tottenham currently sit 14th in the Premier League table with the Europa League serving as their only opportunity to win silverware, which has placed real pressure on Postecoglou.
Supporters believe that the Australian coach is the person to blame for limiting his own players, which many called out after witnessing Tel’s goal.
