Tottenham and Arsenal fans immediately disagree as Daniel Levy exit bombshell drops

Tottenham have now announced that Chairman Daniel Levy has stepped down from his role at the Lilywhites after 25 years at the club.

Levy was a deeply unpopular figure among Spurs fans, with regular protests against his running of the club, and they have now gotten their wish.

Tottenham went 17 years without a trophy and recorded their lowest-ever league finish last season despite winning the Europa League, yet investment remained fairly minimal in comparison to the rest of the top six.

The announcement of Levy’s departure from Tottenham has come out of nowhere, and the rest of the Premier League have now reacted to the news, with bitter rivals Arsenal in complete disagreement with Tottenham fans.

Tottenham fans delighted, Arsenal gutted after Daniel Levy exit

Tottenham’s bitter rivalry with Arsenal meant that Levy became a household name for Gunners fans over the years, and while Spurs fans are rejoicing at his exit, their rivals are gutted.

Arsenal have won five out of the last six North London Derbies, and have not finished below Tottenham since 2022, which sums up the rot that Levy has allowed to set in at Spurs.

In light of Levy’s departure, Tottenham fans have taken to X to celebrate, with a potentially bright future under a more ambitious chairman ahead.

Gunners fans have had a very different reaction after Arsenal beat Levy to the signings of Eberechi Eze and Piero Hincapie in the summer.

Daniel Levy oversaw Arsenal dominance over Tottenham

Perhaps one of the biggest problems under Levy’s guidance was the inferiority to Arsenal, which he allowed to fester at the club.

One of Levy’s first acts at Tottenham was failing to offer Sol Campbell an improved contract, which led to him joining Arsenal.

Arsenal then won the Premier League in 2004 at White Hart Lane, in a truly dark day for Tottenham, and finished above Levy’s Spurs every year until 2017.

Levy’s final summer saw Arsenal hijack Tottenham’s deal for Eze thanks to his inaction, and it is no wonder that Spurs fans are now happy, while the Gunners may have the prospect of a more successful rival going forward.
