Thomas Frank to ‘be sacked in six months’ as fans react to Tottenham announcement

Tottenham may have only just appointed Thomas Frank as manager, but there has already been a whirlwind of reaction.

The Dane’s announcement was a long time coming as the finer details were ironed out between Spurs and Brentford.

However, now his appointment has been made official, Tottenham supporters can begin to imagine life under Frank.

Indeed, the reaction on social media has been rife, and football supporters from all kinds of clubs have chimed in.

Fans saying the same thing about Frank and Postecoglou

Postecoglou was clearly loved by several Tottenham players, with many speaking out amid his departure.

That will not make life easy for Frank, who already has a seismic task on his hands to change their Premier League form.

In many ways, Postecoglou and Frank could not be more different.

Ange, the brazen, outspoken character during press conferences, and Frank, the calm and composed figure, never reeled in by prodding questions.

While they have their clear differences, the ex-Brentford manager will want to emulate Postecoglou’s trophy triumph.

As has been said countless times, Postecoglou guided Tottenham to a trophy after promising to do so.

The odds of Frank doing the same are stacked against him, but fans have warned him against matching the Australian’s achievement, or he could face a similar fate.

Frank must ignore trophy noise and improve Tottenham

Talk of trophies will inevitably dominate Frank’s first Tottenham press conference, but he will not entertain that talk.

Rather than build hype like Postecoglou did, Frank will almost certainly take a more diplomatic approach about building for the future.

In their official statement, Spurs referenced Frank’s ability to develop players and squads, as he did with Brentford.

Indeed, this is very telling, as it suggests the North London outfit’s hierarchy believes they already have a decent squad.

Of course, that is true, and the Dane will be expected to push his current crop further than they went in the Premier League last season.

However, reading into this statement further, does this mean Frank will not be backed in the transfer market?

This definitely feels like a project appointment, but all Frank can do is focus on the job at hand.
