Son Heung-min ‘finished’: Tottenham told to ‘sell’ superstar after what he did

Tottenham have been told to get rid of Son Heung-min after his performance in their defeat against Nottingham Forest on Boxing Day.

The two sides faced off in the Premier League with the game ending 1-0 in Forest’s favour as Spurs found themselves on the back foot for most of the clash.

Son played 81 minutes of the game before he was hooked but the attacker was pretty much invincible throughout, much like some of his other teammates.

Tottenham fans want Son gone after what he did v Nottingham Forest

The South Korea international found himself in a bit of a battle with injuries at the start of the season and hasn’t really found the form he’s shown in previous seasons upon his return.

Son only generated an xG of 0.20 throughout the game and also only successfully completed 50 per cent of the dribbles he attempted (Sofascore).

Following his performance on 26 December and over the last few weeks, it now seems like Spurs fans have had enough with one even saying he was “finished” while another said they’d “had enough”.

While selling the 32-year-old may feel a bit harsh, with the form that the likes of Dejan Kulusevski and at times, Brennan Johnson have found themselves in this season compared to Son, it feels like the time is right for both parties to cut ties with one another.

There’s no denying that he’s had a major impact on the way that Spurs’ seasons have played out during his stint at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but unless he can find the goalscoring prowess he showed earlier in his career, it feels unlikely that there’s much gas left in his tank.
