Man United told to send Eriksen to Saudi after scenes v Tottenham – ‘Get rid’

Manchester United fans have been left disappointed by Christian Eriksen after his performance against Tottenham in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.

Spurs came out on top and it was not the best night for the Red Devils’ defence as they let four goals in throughout the evening, Son Heung-min putting the final nail in the coffin in the 88th minute.

Eriksen failed to show his best form against his former side, being taken off after 56 minutes with FotMob giving him a rating of 6.6.

Tottenham icon Eriksen will be seeking a new challenge in summer

The defender got a good reception from the home supporters as they applauded Eriksen off the pitch after his substitution.

However, he is failing to impress in Red which has led to supporters calling for him to be moved on when his contract expires in June, including shouts of “send him to Saudi” suggesting his time at the top level is finished.

Eriksen is a well-respected player in English football and he was certainly deserving of the reception he received from North London contingent on Thursday [19 December] night.

Furthermore, the defender impressed at his former club and consistently performed to a high-level that made him undroppable from the team.

With that being said, it is clear that he is starting to slow up as he gets a bit older and he has not been helped by injuries in the past making his playing time stop-start.

Although, while the United fans may want him off their books, it will be interesting to see whether the 32-year-old does make an end-of-career move abroad or whether there is still an opportunity for him to deliver in the top flight.
