Man United fans love Tottenham ‘legend’ after what he did before Europa League final

Tottenham will face Manchester United in the Europa League final, with both teams desperate for a win to save their seasons.

Man United and Tottenham have both endured disastrous Premier League campaigns, and are one place apart, with United in 16th place and Spurs in 17th.

The Europa League is the only chance of silverware and European qualification for both sides, and their full focus is on the final.

Spurs and United were both beaten 2-0 at home at the weekend, summing up their poor domestic seasons and their eagerness to not suffer any injuries before the final in Bilbao, but there was a scare for the Lilywhites.

Man United fans praise Sergio Reguilon for training tackle

Defender Sergio Reguilon is a forgotten man at Tottenham, and is expected to leave this summer once his contract expires.

Reguilon spent half of last season on loan at Man United, but his biggest contribution nearly came in Spurs training, as he slipped and slid into Brennan Johnson with a slide tackle that left him on the ground.

Johnson was limping after the tackle, and as Tottenham’s top scorer, he would clearly be missed if he was to pick up an injury before the final. Thankfully for Spurs, Johnson appeared to be fine shortly after.

Man United fans have seen the funny side, and praised their former loanee for helping them ahead of the crucial clash.

“United legend”, one wrote, while another added: “He’s still one of us.”

Reguilon to leave Tottenham this summer

Reguilon has made just five appearances in all competitions this season, and none since January, with the left-back far down the pecking order at Spurs.

The Spaniard is out of contract at the end of the season and will depart after an underwhelming few years at Tottenham.

Reguilon is actually a Europa League winner, having triumphed with Sevilla in 2020, but he is not registered for the competition this season, meaning he cannot play a part.

The 28-year-old was popular when he first joined under Jose Mourinho, but his form quickly dropped off a cliff, and loan spells away, including his short stint at Man United, have not helped him recover his best ability.
