Leeds to ‘get rid of Farke now and hire Postecoglou’ after Tottenham sack – reaction

Ange Postecoglou has already been linked with another Premier League job after being sacked by Tottenham last week.

Daniel Levy pulled the trigger on Postecoglou two and a half weeks after he lifted the Europa League trophy.

Thomas Frank looks set to replace Postecoglou at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but speculation has also emerged about where the now-former Spurs manager could wind up following his dismissal.

Leeds fans think Postecoglou is heading to Elland Road

Daniel Farke has led Leeds back to the Premier League this year but there has been speculation about 49ers Enterprises changing their manager.

Farke led Leeds to the Championship title but the Daily Mail reported on 23 April that the German could be axed due to his poor record in the top flight.

Postecoglou’s newfound availability has led to Leeds fans discussing the possibility of him replacing Farke, even though Whites chairman Paraag Marathe has since revealed his public backing for his manager.

Postecoglou’s future lies in Premier League after Tottenham sack

After winning the Europa League with Tottenham, it would be a massive shock if Postecoglou was to never be seen again in English football.

The former Celtic manager has already been linked with a new vacancy in the Premier League, although it’s unclear where.

If Frank is hired, there’ll definitely be some speculation suggesting that Postecoglou could head to West London in a direct managerial swap.

However, after a tough season, there’ll be no one on his case to immedatiately return to football.

By November, a club like Leeds could be without a manager and Postecoglou would certainly be an exciting appointment for a huge club like that.

It remains to be seen how he would fare in any relegation battle because if Leeds did get rid of Farke, it would mean that they’re in the mire in the Premier League.

But a refreshed approach using what he’s learned from his time at Tottenham could see Postecoglou become a firm fan favourite elsewhere in England sooner rather than later.
