Ange Postecoglou looks likely to depart Tottenham at the end of what has been a bitterly disappointing season.

Spurs are currently 16th in the Premier League, and they could drop even lower before the season draws to a close, with relegation thankfully impossible.

Tottenham fans are furious at how the campaign has panned out, and even victory in the Europa League is unlikely to save Postecoglou.

Several names, including Thiago Motta, have been linked to replace Postecoglou, but fans are now very divided over one option which has just emerged.

Tottenham fans divided over Scott Parker links

Former Spurs midfielder Scott Parker has now been linked with a return to North London after his remarkable achievements in the Championship.

Parker has just achieved Premier League promotion with Burnley, the third club he has managed the feat with, and the 44-year-old has now been mooted as an option for Spurs.

However, despite Spurs fans’ admiration for him as a player, many are unconvinced he is the right candidate to take the club forward.

One simply said: “Are you having a laugh?”

However, some are convinced that the work he has done at Burnley could make him a strong fit for the role.

Parker is a risky appointment for Spurs

If Postecoglou does depart, Parker would be an incredibly risky appointment to replace him, given his previous stints in the Premier League.

While he succeeded in the Championship, his previous Premier League spells at Fulham and Bournemouth ended in disaster, and he is yet to prove himself in the top flight.

Parker’s Burnley team have been astonishingly good defensively this season, conceding just 15 goals in 44 games, and he would be a far cry from Postecoglou stylistically.

Although fans may get behind a manager who was popular during his days in midfield, it is clear that most doubt his ability to succeed at a club like Spurs just yet.
